The May 2011 innovation days
As renowned pioneering platform of knowledge the 7th innovation days again proved that by an open-minded exchange of ideas new ways can be revealed where the future tube processing is heading to.
This time the focal point of the innovative assembly of the branch rested with the motto `1000 ideas. One solution – tube forming technology`. Lectures by specialists of the tube processing industry provided new technical perspectives and highly interesting topics of conversation for intense discussions with the selected expert audience.
The company Visicontrol introduced the `Camera control of forming geometries` for the quality management in ongoing processes. Modern measuring procedures of workpieces, e.g. in the ongoing process of an automatic working cell, guarantee more security for optimal results by a hundred percent control.
The Eifeler Werkzeuge GmbH contribution `Tool coatings` also provided for a great deal of attention. It was illustrated how anti-friction coating (TIC, TIN or MOST) affects the lifetime increase of forming tools.
Production can also be arranged more efficiently by the correct use of lubricants. This was revealed by the IHS Dosiertechnik speaker in his lecture `Lubricants in tube processing`: For example, special evaporating lubricating oils can conserve cleansing after the tube treatment.
In the lectures `Forming procedures introduced` and `Geometric options in the forming technology` experts learnt which potential tube forming has to offer. In addition, the interested expert audience obtained practical insights during a company visit and how the solution for tubes comes into being.
The 2011 innovation days impressively confirmed the value of our experts' forum as drive for the development of new technologies. What's more, the next innovation days will also involve a great deal of visionary outlooks.
